Surfing For God

Sex. There is no doubt that our world is driven by sexuality and pornography. In our world, there are 68 million searches for pornography every day. That is the world. What about Christian men? It has been reported that over 70% of Christian men have reported viewing pornography in the last year. In fact, over 50% of evangelical pastors have reported viewing pornography in the last year.

This world serves us sexuality. In fact, you do not even have to search for it! Sexual immorality will find you. Because our world is sex-saturated, it is necessary to know how to fight the temptation that could lead to fatal outcomes.

I recently read a book titled “Surfing For God” by Michael John Cusick. This book attempts to help readers find victory in sexual struggles. The tagline of the book is “Discovering the divine desire beneath sexual struggle”. Almost everyone faces sexual temptation. It is vital to know how to face the temptation.

“Surfing For God” helps readers make a self-diagnoses of one’s life to be able to rise against the temptation. The author shares many personal examples that anyone can learn from. I learned many things from this book, but there were a few chapters that I will remember.

The first chapter sets up the book. Michael mentions that sexual struggles are just the tip of the iceberg. There are underlying issues that must be exposed in order to make a diagnoses and move forward. The book goes through discovering the problems to learning how to fight the temptation.

No matter where you are in your life, this book is for you. It doesn’t matter if you are a porn addict or someone who has never viewed porn…this book is for you. There are so many things to learn for personal growth in this book. I also learned many things that I can use to help others.

I highly recommend this book! The sex-saturated world we live in only wants to destroy us. It is necessary to have many defenses lined up to win the battle against sexual temptation.

I received this book free from Booksneeze for a review. I am titled to my own views and am in no way influenced to write a positive review.

With those stats it shows this topic needs to be shared and taught more within our churches. It sounds like a helpful book for any man.

Definitely! It is one of those “silent” topics. It does need to be shared all the time though because of its impact on our culture.
If you are signed up with Booksneeze, you can get it to review. That’s how I got it.
