The past few weeks, I have been going through a lot. I have had so many decisions to make. On top of that, I have experienced many trials. Even now, I feel like I am in the desert. I have nothing left in me to last…I have to rely on God to get me through everything.

Through everything that has been happening, I feel that God is showing me things.  I have been praying about some things for almost a year. Up until now, God has not really shown me what direction He wants me to follow. It has been through these trials that God has shown His will for me.

Tonight, the band and I are leading worship. We are going to be leading “Desert Song”. I’m sure it is familiar to many of you. The words are so powerful though. No matter what, God is there in our trials (or deserts)

When all thats within me feels dry
This is my prayer in my hunger and need
My God is the God who provides

This is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
There is a faith proved
Of more worth than gold
So refine me Lord through the flame

God is my victory and He is here

This is my prayer in the battle
When triumph is still on its way
I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ
So firm on His promise Ill stand

All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship

This is my prayer in the harvest
When favour and providence flow
I know Im filled to be emptied again
The seed Ive received I will sow

The fact is that we all have deserts. When we have nothing left in us to survive. Our only lifeline is God…
