Have you ever thought about how weird Jesus is?
It sounds blasphemous, but read through the gospels and the first thing you should notice is how weird the guy is.
My Bible study has been reading through the book of Mark and in chapters 4 and 5 alone Jesus does some really weird stuff:
- He yells at a storm (4:35-41) (and the storm listens to him!)
- He confronts an army. (5:1-13) (The army of thousands freaks out when it sees Jesus and begs him not murder them!)
- He tells a man he’ll cure his daughter who is moments from death, and on the way he ignores the situation so he can talk to a woman who didn’t want to talk to him anyway. (5:21-34)
Tomorrow morning, my youth group and I are headed out on a mission trip to Mississippi. I’m really excited about it. This trip is a mission trip/choir tour. We go around doing various service projects in the day…and on church mornings and nights, we put on a choir performance. In this, we have drama, stomp, and puppets teams to go along with the singing.
Personally, this will be my 5th choir tour…they all have been life-changing! I’m just asking right now that if you are reading this, to pray for us as we are in Mississppi all next week! It is a group of over 75 people!
Pray that God would give us strength in our intense schedule…and that God would guide us and direct us on the trip!
Also, I have a few guest posters for the site the week I am out. I didn’t want the site to get forgotten or anything, so I got some awesome guest posters that have some awesome posts coming up! I hope that these guest posts will get more response than the ones I write! So make sure you stop by and drop some comments!
As an electric guitarist, I always have the inner-desire to crank up the amp. I’m sure many of you out there do too! Whether you kill it on the vocals or any other instrument, the fact is…most of the time…loud music is better music! In fact, here is a picture to prove it (courtesy of guitarforworship)
I am right along with a lot of you other musicians in the sense that you like to crank your amps up to seriously extreme volumes! Whether it be electric guitars (my favorite instrument) or anything, it has to be loud.
“Loud music is better music”
That, by the way, was a quote I just made up. Feel free to quote me on it!
Loud amps save lives! There you have it! Although many of you (and myself) are convinced that loud amps really do save lives, it is not well respected by some individuals. Therefore, we are required to do the walk of shame over to our amps to turn them down to volumes even we have a hard time hearing. This has happened to all of us in some way or another.

So I have been wanting to get a nice delay pedal for awhile now. I was really in need of something that had tap tempo because we are always playing songs (in the worship band I play in) that require delay. Up until now, I was kinda having to wing things! haha. I’m sure no one really noticed, but I knew that there could be so much more! As I researched, I found the Boss DD-20 for a great deal!
(Here’s the pic of the DD-20)
This pedal is really nice! It is pretty complicated to figure out at first, but it gets easier. I’m still learning how to get the looper down (it’s pretty tricky).
Once I figure everything out, I am planning on posting a demo video. This is also a trial run of a video blog. I want to do something not so serious to see what happens.
“For our God is a consuming fire.”
This is an awesome song. I just wanted to share it with you all today. This song is sung by Kristian Stanfill and his band, but below is a video of another worship band playing it. Both of them sound awesomesauce! Here’s the video and lyrics below:
If you can’t see the video in your reader, click here!
Men will try to rule the world You made
But we know power is Yours alone to give and take
A day will come when every knee will bow
And every tongue confess that You are Lord
Both now and forever
Day after day our God is reigning
He’s never shaken, my hope is in the Lord
Time after time our God is faithful
Trustworthy Savior, my hope is in the Lord
The fear of man and what they plan will fade
But we know You alone are God of every day
Like the flowers, man will rise and fall
But You are everlasting, never ending God eternal
Just wanted to go for a little humor today! I don’t think I have ever shared this video on the site before…but it is just so funny! Enjoy!
What did you think of the video?
