Willing. The dictionary defines willing as “ready, eager, or prepared to do something”.

During a typical day, you are faced with many challenges, opportunities, and situations. How you respond to these circumstances will determine your future.  I introduced the word willing because it is something that is needed to accomplish something great.

You see, God wants to use you, but you have to be willing to be used. God wants to use those who realize that their sufficiency is not found in themselves. Rather, God wants to use those who recognize that their sufficiency comes directly from Him.

“Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as coming from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God”

-II Corinthians 3:5

I recently came across an awesome song from a band known as Everfound. They have a song called “God of the Impossible”. I love the lyrics and the song, so I’ll post it below:

I just wanted to share a song with you all today. This world tries to serve us up things that will only temporarily satisfy. We can experience real life in a relationship with God. He is the One who satisfies.

The Ascension by Phil Wickham

Hello everyone!

I hope all is going well. I haven’t posted in awhile, so I would like to share something with you today. Don’t worry, I am planning to publish some awesome posts soon! I recently purchased Phil Wickham’s new record titled “The Ascension”. It is simply amazing! I wanted to share the title song with you all today because it has such a great meaning.

This is the start of something amazing
A moment when heaven touches earth
Here in our hearts Lord we are waiting
For something that’s far beyond what we have seen or heard

Let us start the ascension
Let’s begin the climb
Up this holy mountain
Where Your glory shines
Further up, further in
Just to be with You again
Let us start the ascension

We’re fixing our eyes on glory and fire
Your name is branded on our hearts
You are the source of all we desire
Nothing can hold us back, we’re running to where You are

Encouragement for Today: Closer

Today I wanted to share a short post of encouragement. Recently, a song titled “Closer” from Hillsong came out. It is a great song that talks about the life we have in Jesus.

Many people use things to fill the void in this life. People often choose drugs because they mask the pain of reality, engage in sexual immorality because it brings temporary fulfillment and companionship, or hide behind a career or job title because it provides an identity. These are all real needs. We want to have a good life full of joy and fulfillment. The problem is that it can not be found in what this world offers up to us.

Jesus is the only one who will provide true joy and a real meaning for your life.

I want to encourage you to watch this video of the song “Closer”. It has such a great message of encouragement and the life we can have in Jesus.

This Is Amazing Grace

I wanted to share a song today that I believe ties together the whole reason we are able to have a relationship with God. It’s because of the sacrifice Jesus paid for us on the cross. The song is called “This is Amazing Grace”. Watch the video and think about how much God has done for you.

Verse 1:
Who breaks the power of sin and darkness
Whose love is mighty and so much stronger
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder
Who leaves us breathless in awe and wonder
The King of Glory, the King above all kings

This is amazing grace
This is unfailing love
That You would take my place
That You would bear my cross
You would lay down Your life
That I would be set free
Jesus, I sing for
All that You’ve done for me

A Glowing Night of Worship

This past Wednesday night, the band and I were able to lead a neon/glow worship concert for our church. It was the last time I would lead worship for this group for the year because of moving away for college. It was a blast!

I got some video footage of the night, and I wanted to share it with all of you! Hope you enjoy!

The song below is a song that I wrote to lead in worship…

Good Friday…The Victory is Yours!

Hey everyone! Hope you are in preparation for Easter. Yes, today is “Good Friday”. Today (some years ago) was the day when Jesus took on the penalty of our sin. Instead of just taking this as another day, thank God for what He did many years ago. Without Easter, we would still be praying and confessing our sins to a priest. Our sins would not have been paid for.

I’m reminded of a great verse that shows the freedom we have through Christ:

“Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split…”

-Matthew 27:51

Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

-1 Corinthians 15:55-57
